Elijah Fred Denton, 73, of Elizabethtown passed away Friday, September 14, 2018, at his home.
An excellent carpenter for 40 years, he worked for Parco Construction in Louisville and built several homes in the Glendale area also. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Local 175 Union. He was active in coaching while living in California, where he coached many teams of all types of sports. He was also a member of The Door Christian Church in Louisville.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Shane Denton; parents, Ernest Augustine Denton and Erma Fisher Denton Wagner and a brother, Ernest Denton.
Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Wilson Denton; daughter, Rachel Saenz (Joe); son, Matthew Denton and Cedric Dennis (Charity), who he loved as his own son. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Lauren and Cole Denton, Isaias, Natalie and Dora Saenz and Jayden and Cedric “Boo Boo” Dennis and his best buddy Scooter.
Funeral services will be 1PM Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Saenz officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
Visitation will be from 4-8PM Monday, September 17, 2018, and after 10AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
